"THE SUMO LIVE RESTAURANT Hirakuza GINZA TOKYO," an inbound sumo entertainment show restaurant operated by Hanshin Contents Link Co., Ltd. , will be holding its summer event "Ginza de Dosukoi! Cool Down! 2026" from July 7th (Tuesday) to August 18th (Tuesday) .
This event will feature a Tanabata (Star Festival) experience, the sale of summer-only sake cocktails, and a drink stamp rally. In addition, customers who have a performance ticket and participate in the commemorative photo session after the show will receive an original fan as a gift (while supplies last).
With the concept of "The coolest and hottest Japanese cultural experience in Ginza!", we will deliver a special and exciting time to make Japan's increasingly hot summers more comfortable and to get caught up in the thrill of sumo wrestling. Details are as follows.
■Event details

Customers using only the sake bar are also welcome to participate.
・How to participate:
Please receive a stamp card from a staff member upon arrival and then order a drink.
A stamp will be applied each time a drink is served.
4. Original sumo wrestler fan gift (for those with a performance ticket)
We will be giving away original fans exclusively to customers who have a performance ticket and participate in the commemorative photo session after the show. Quantities are limited, so please participate early!
■Background of the event: Worsening heatwaves <br />In recent years, summers in Japan have become extremely harsh due to record-breaking high temperatures and humidity. According to data from the Japan Meteorological Agency for 2025, the average monthly maximum temperature in central Tokyo from July to August 2025 is expected to reach 32-34 degrees Celsius, with approximately 90 days per year experiencing temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius. This necessitates measures to cope with the extreme heat during summer tourism.
Taking these environmental changes into consideration, our facility maximizes the unique characteristics of an indoor experience facility that fuses sumo wrestling and food, positioning the facility itself as a "summer retreat." While avoiding the risk of heatstroke, we aim to balance Japanese cultural experiences with comfort, creating a unique Japanese summer experience that is "hot yet cool."
■Event Period: From "Tanabata of the New Calendar" to "Traditional Tanabata" This event will be held from July 7th (Tanabata of the New Calendar) to August 18th (the day before Tanabata of the Old Calendar).
The National Astronomical Observatory of Japan announces annually that the "Traditional Tanabata," which corresponds to the Tanabata festival according to the old lunar calendar, is on August 19th. Since our facility is closed on that day, we have set August 18th, the day before, as the final day of our events.
The experience begins with the "Tanabata of the New Calendar," when modern Japanese people begin to become aware of the arrival of summer, and continues through to the "Traditional Tanabata," based on the calendar that people actually lived by in the past, all as a series of events. Focusing on the fact that the Edo period was based on the old calendar, the facility's concept, "Edo Spirit -Sumo & Culture Experience-," is designed to allow visitors to experience not only sumo, food, and sake culture, but also the culture of time as expressed by the "calendar."
