[Marimekko] opens a special limited-time pop-up shop in Ginza, “Marimekko Wa Living in Ginza,” where you can experience the essence of Japanese culture. New tableware designs will be available for pre-sale worldwide.

We are the first in the world to sell tableware with a new form that complements Japanese food culture.
Event period: July 29th (Wed) – August 4th (Tue), 2026

Marimekko, a Finnish design house operated by LOOK Inc., will open a pop-up shop called "Marimekko Wa Living in Ginza" at the Matsuya Ginza 1st Floor Promotion Space next to the Matsuya Ginza 1st Parking Lot from Wednesday, July 29th to Tuesday, August 4th, 2026. This pop-up shop will be the first in the world to sell new tableware designs that complement Japanese food culture.

This pop-up space creates a delightful contrast between traditional yet modern Japanese interior design and Marimekko's bright and positive outlook on life. The pop-up shop's concept incorporates elements of Japanese interior design, such as tatami-floored raised platforms, washi paper used in shoji screens, and the warm textures of natural materials, reinterpreting them from a fresh and contemporary perspective. Enjoy a space where tranquility and vibrancy harmonize, where Japanese culture and Marimekko's functional designs for everyday life are fused together.

Among the items being released for the first time worldwide, the bowl series, a new addition to our dining collection, is particularly noteworthy. These new tableware items, featuring the Unikko motif, will be available for viewing and purchase at the venue before their release in other countries around the world and in Japan.
The venue will also feature a wide range of items, including limited-edition items and pre-release items available only at the pop-up shop, as well as new tableware, fabric items, apparel, and accessories. In addition, the Utu bag, scheduled to be released this fall, will be available for pre-sale.

Furthermore, Marimekko's design director, Minna Kemell-Kutvonen, will be in attendance on July 29th (Wednesday), the first day of the pop-up event. Please come and enjoy this special opportunity! (*For more details, please visit the official Marimekko website.)

The new dining series will be available in two different color variations of the Unikko print. One is a harmonious combination of sand, cotton, and Nordic forest green, and the other is an iconic combination of red, orange, and black. It features a design that complements Japanese food culture and is easy to use for a wide range of purposes.
