“Tsugu” Debut Commemorative POP-UP held at GINZA SIX Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore

Aiming to revitalize traditional crafts and industries. The lifestyle brand "Tsugu" will hold a POP-UP at Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore.

Lab&Design Co., Ltd. has launched a brand in collaboration with traditional crafts and industries studios and companies all over the country with the aim of passing on Japanese traditional crafts and industries to the next generation. At Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore (GINZA SIX 6F), which connects art, Japanese culture, and life through books and proposes "living with art", POP-UP sales will be held on June 3 ( It will be held from Saturday).

Having experienced the alarm bells of the SDGs and the instability of the world situation due to the corona disaster, we think that it has become an opportunity to reconfirm the wonders of our own country and our interest in Made in Japan. I realized that the ancient Japanese way of thinking, which is to use things carefully for a long time when you stop and think about it, is overlapping with this idea.

The first POP-UP products at Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore this time, "Banryoku" and "Hoshikage" are produced with Oiso Towel, which also manufactures Imabari Towel. Kutani ware Seiko kiln and “Niwatazumi” small plate, Yamanaka lacquerware Shirasagi woodwork, “Firefly” and “Amanogawa” bowls, Noto Hiba chopsticks wiped in Wajima and lacquered. "Meguri", which is processed using technology, is made with 18 pairs of chopsticks.We respect the high technology and tradition of the participating companies, and design them to suit modern lifestyles to show the splendor of traditional crafts. We will pass it on to the younger generation and to the world.

As a platform, Tsugu creates products in collaboration with participating companies and workshops. We provide companies and workshops with high technology and productivity with tones and sizes that match the interior and lifestyle of today, and designs that do not lose the characteristics of traditional crafts and industrial products. Develop products used for and distribute profits. We created such a platform for the continuation, continuation and prosperity of Japanese traditional crafts and traditional industrial products.

The design was inspired by the Japanese word “banryoku,'' which describes the full greenery of nature, including the plants and plants that cover the fields and mountains in summer.

The spiraling circles express the strength and mystery of the abundant life that flourishes in nature.
The design allows the circle to rotate no matter which side you hold, so you can enjoy various expressions depending on the angle you use it.
These chopsticks are made from Noto Hiba grown in the woodlands of Noto, and finished with natural lacquer.
