As the first installment, a program “Park Lab EXPT.07 Will catchball cross the boundaries of play? ” will be held from July 11th (Tuesday) to 25th (Tuesday), 2023.
Park Lab is a program that introduces clues to the future that Sony finds in casual everyday spaces. What you saw yesterday looks a little different today. It is a place of “Jikken” where you can meet such an opportunity.
In Park Lab EXPT.07, two locations, more than 200 meters apart, "Sony Park Mini" in the basement of the Ginza Sukiyabashi intersection and "Sony Store Ginza" in the Ginza 4-chome intersection are connected to create a real-life game called "XR catchball". We will perform a new kind of play that fuses virtual and virtual. Using Sony's video/audio/sensing technology and MUSVI's telepresence system "Mado", it is a virtual catch ball experience that relies on sound to exchange virtual balls.
XR Catch is a workshop for an inclusive design project held by the Sony Group's design department, Creative Center. It was developed when I remembered that and said, "I want to play catch with my son."
Through the experience of playing catch using this new technology, we will think about a society where everyone can participate and have more free play.
