Install environmental sounds from all over the world in Ginza Sony Park Now that movement is restricted, feel the world with sounds collected by Shuta Hasunuma and overseas artists

At Ginza Sony Park (Ginza Sony Park), the spread of the new coronavirus COVID-19 has caused changes in people's values and the world, and movement has been restricted. We are making various efforts to explore new possibilities. On the basement floor of Ginza Sony Park, the background sound work " Silence Park curated by Shuta Hasunuma" was created using environmental sounds from around the world as a material to express the atmosphere of this era from the perspective of artists around the world. Is newly published.

In addition, we also started another initiative, "BULLETIN CUBES", a message board for people, things, and things that we "want to deliver" from artists.

"Silence Park" is a new background sound of Ginza Sony Park, created by musicians Shuta Hasunuma and artists from all over the world, using sounds collected from cities and nature in various places. This environmental sound work was created based on the concept of "public", and while various forms of artists continue to change their shape, it will be held continuously until September 2021 when Ginza Sony Park closes.

From Monday, September 7, 2020, Spanish musician Francisco López (Francisco Lopez), German electro musician Jan Jelinek (Jan Jelinek), and Shuta Hasunuma will play works in the park. I will. On the special site, you can see the "reciprocal letter" that shows the interaction between Shuta Hasunuma and each artist, as well as a description of each work.

Now that travel and movement are limited, I hope you will listen to the sound of the environment that is not in front of you and feel the world.

Environmental sounds from all over the world are installed in Ginza Sony Park.

Since COVID-19, people have been restricted from moving,

I live in a place where contact with "public" places is difficult.

At that time, from artists all over the world,

I had them create a work of environmental sound with the concept of "public".

This project is always on-going,

We will change the shape by the participation of various artists.

Listen to the sounds of the environment that do not exist in front of you and think about the unknown.

It is an attempt to become a trigger to hear the voice of the world.

Shuta Hasunuma

Artists around the world and Shuta Hasunuma produce it under the theme of "public".

Ginza Sony Park's new background sound “Silence Park”.

Sound works collected from all over the world in Ginza.

At times, we fill this space by changing the shape of the sound and spinning it.

Please listen.

Francisco Lopez Francisco López

One of the world-renowned musicians in the sound art and experimental music industries. While exploring the depths of the world, he has produced a music piece that eliminates everyday "obviousness" by himself for 40 years. By treating the artificially created sound and the environmental sound heard in nature in a borderless manner, he creates music with the theme of "the abyss of sound" beyond the range that humans can perceive. Unconventional works that go beyond the known norms release the listener's senses and spirits, giving them an immersive and profound musical experience.

He has performed recordings, workshops and sound installation projects in over 70 countries on six continents, and performed live music with hundreds of artists from all over the world. The truly wide-ranging, genreless music productions we have made so far are now released by more than 400 labels and publishers around the world.

He has also won numerous awards all over the world, including five awards at the Austrian art festival "Ars Electronica" and the Quartz Award for his best collection of music. The name was further spread throughout the world.

Jan Jellinek Jan Jelinek

Musician, music producer, remixer. He specializes in "sound conversion" that transforms popular music sources into abstract sounds. He started his career as a musician in 1998 when he released his work under the pen name "Farben and Gramm". In collaboration with the Japanese ambient jazz unit Computer Soup and Australian jazz and electronica band Triosk, he produced an audiovisual performance with the video artist Karl Kriem.

In 2008, he founded the music label Faitiche to focus on more experimental efforts, collaborative projects with artists, production activities with friends of musicians, and work with friends of musicians. A total of 20 works have been announced so far, including collaboration works with vibraphone player Masayoshi Fujita and works with fictitious sound researcher Usora Bogner, who has expanded his field of activity in the world such as sheet music, paintings, and copyrighted works. It reaches points.

In 2012, an experimental radio work by Yang was used at the German broadcasting station SWR, which deals with fictional existence and scenes, and is still being broadcast.

■Because it is now, " BULLETIN CUBES " 2nd bullet that I want to convey even a small voice

“BULLETIN CUBES” was established in June 2020 as a new communication platform at this time when the way people interact with society and nature, and the way they spend time are changing. It is a message board unique to Ginza Sony Park that conveys the feelings of participating artists and creators that "I want to convey even a small voice because it is now," and people who met BULLETIN CUBES can accidentally connect to things and things.

This time, we received new messages from 20 people and started installation again from Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Please enjoy various messages and encounters with cubes and special sites scattered in the margin of the park.
