·Overview

This exhibition, entitled "STORIES -collaboration with Essential Store-", is a new exhibition created by Aya Ito with the motif of items from an essential store in Osaka that deals with antiques from Japan and overseas.

Ito is an artist who creates paintings, three-dimensional works, etc. using a unique technique called "photo drawing" (creating paintings based on photographs taken by producing dioramas of various sizes). After graduating from Kyoto City University of Arts, he studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in the United Kingdom and stayed in Ireland in 2018 as an artist in residence at the Royal Academy of Arts. Currently, he is developing energetic activities based in his atelier in Wakayama.

One of the artists who got a lot of attention at the exhibition "Break Eve x Daikanyama Hillside Terrace-Run through the times! 38 artists selected by Tomio Koyama", which was held in September 2020 as a gateway to artists. Future activities are attracting attention.
In this exhibition, the motif of the work is also exhibited as an installation. Please enjoy the new world of Aya Ito.
