Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore (GINZA SIX 6F, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will hold an exhibition of works by artist Naoki Nomura. Approximately 10 ceramic works produced from 2015 to 2021 will be exhibited. The period is from January 15th (Sat) to February 4th (Fri), 2021.
·Overview
Naoki Nomura is said to have been familiar with the material of soil even before he started his career as a writer. From the soft material of soil, I was fascinated by the ceramic art that creates beautiful colors and stable shapes by baking, and created works. I have created cute "living things" based on the story of "finding" in my daily life.
The story scooped up from Nomura's daily life appears as a "living thing" that looks like a girl, using soil as a material. Viewers naturally smile at each story as they wear food such as strawberries and fried shrimp, have distinctive hairstyles, and have ambiguous facial expressions. At the same time, you will feel a warm look at the writer's daily life.
In this exhibition, about 10 ceramic works produced from 2015 to 2021 will be lined up, and you can trace the trajectory of Nomura's creation.
Please experience the story of the mysterious "living things" formed by Naoki Nomura at the venue.

・ Artist statement
There are many small discoveries in our daily lives.
Imagination spreads from encounters with various things and people, and casual conversations, and a snapping story is born in my head.
And the work is that many characters in the story settled in my head and appeared in the real world through my hands.
