The first memorable exhibition is Kotao Tomozawa's solo exhibition "Monochrome", an up-and-coming artist who is sweeping the world. The session will be from Sunday, July 3, 2022 to Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore (GINZASIX 6F, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will start "FOAM CONTEMPORARY" as a new art space from July 3 (Sun) in the milestone year of the 5th anniversary of its opening. Now that society and people's lifestyles are undergoing major changes, we will explore the shape of the coming art while following the increasingly diversified aspects of today's art scene.
·Overview
Since opening in 2017, Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore has introduced notable artists from a unique perspective through various projects with the motto of "life with art".
In the 2020s, as society and people's lifestyles change drastically, we will follow the increasingly diversified aspects of today's art scene and explore the shape of the coming art, a milestone year of the 5th anniversary of the opening of the business. As a new attempt, we will start the art space "FOAM CONTEMPORARY".
By multiplying <LIQUID>, which imagines flexible planning contents, and <SOLID>, a space equipped with conventional white cubes, under the name of the intermediate mode "FOAM", the day The idea is to create an expression space that reflects the art scene of a book in multiple ways.
The first "O" is intentionally deformed to remind you of a <mass of bubbles>. It shows how the artist's free and flexible infinite imagination and ideas form new sensibilities and values for each person in the ever-changing art scene.
"FOAM CONTEMPORARY" is an expression space that explores and fosters the value and real pleasure of art that transcends the life cycle while staying close to the actuality of the times. I will introduce it.
・ 1st Exhibition | Kotao Tomozawa Solo Exhibition "Monochrome"
As the first memorable exhibition, we will introduce Kotao Tomozawa, an artist born in Bordeaux, France in 1999, and hold a solo exhibition "Monochrome".
Kotao Tomozawa is an artist who is attracting attention from home and abroad for his unique portraits in which slime-like substances and organic motifs are intertwined.
Received the Kume Keiichiro Award and the Ueno Geiyu Award since he was a student at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. Participating in exhibitions and art fairs, I have quickly established my presence as an artist. As one of the leading artists of the generation, he is expected to play an even more active role in the future, as he has become a hot topic in modeling and music activities.
In this exhibition entitled "Monochrome", in addition to presenting new oil paintings, we will also sell prints based on oil paintings. Please take a look at Kotao Tomozawa's works, which have a simple structure but give a strong impression to the viewer with the realistic expression of the texture, sheerness, and softness of the material.
