A series program that introduces the unique commerce of diverse creators and sellers Nishi-Ginza Parking Lot Shopping Street Part 3 “Shinkogeiten (P)”

Sony Park Mini opens today for a limited time from February 10th (Friday) to 21st (Tuesday) #New craft store P #sonyparkmini

Sony Park Mini, an experimental 10-tsubo pop-up space, will be the third installment in the series program "Nishi Ginza Parking Lot Shopping Street," which introduces the unique commerce of diverse producers and sellers. "New Craft Shop (P)" will be open for a limited time from February 10th (Friday) to 21st (Tuesday), 2023 today.

"Nishi Ginza Parking Shopping Street" is a series that uses the space of the Sony Park Mini as a corner of a fictitious shopping district, and introduces a unique way of doing business with a variety of manufacturers and sellers, along with a method of continuing to be involved with goods and stores. Program. So far, “Utsukamoto”, which sells tableware on skateboards, and “Hand To Mouth”, a community where friends gather in Ebara, Shinagawa Ward, have opened.

Based in Kyoto, this third store, "Shinkogeiten (P)," is based on the spirit of Shinkogei, and freely crosses the boundaries of specialized fields such as design, engineering, software, and electronics to express or solve problems. Based on the idea of solving the above, we will develop Tokyo's first independent exhibition and limited store by the designer group "Shinkogeisha" that explores new ways of manufacturing.

In this program, we will bring a 3D printer to Sony Park Mini, actually produce works in this space, and sell them.

Shinkogeisha's strength is its high level of expressiveness, which allows it to create a variety of expressions and designs by using 3D printers, which are usually used for mockups and parts production, as a "tool". For example, "tilde", which has a characteristic texture like knitted plastic, regards a 3D printer as a craft machine, aiming for perfection by repeating trial and error while crossing digital and analog. product series. We use a special technique called "knitting layer" that can create a warm and soft look even though it is made of resin. In addition, the tool series "Nosemono", which consists of 3D scanning of natural objects and the addition of artificial objects that are parasitic on the surface, is made by 3D scanning stones and designing them one by one according to their shape. By printing, the function is “imposed” without changing the shape of the stone.

Through the introduction of 3D printing product production processes and methods, as well as examples of experimental efforts and products, we hope to provide an opportunity to think about new relationships between things and people that overturn conventional values.

・New Craft House

As an alternative to the highly specialized and systemized industrial society, Shinkougeisha advocates the reintegration of specialized fields and dialogue with craft materials, envisioning a new form of manufacturing without digital/analog boundaries. I am practicing.
Resin, in particular, is a material that symbolizes industrial production, and has long been treated on the premise of mass production, but in a society where 3D printers have become widespread, it has become a material that can be handled on a craft scale.
While digital machine tools such as 3D printers are returning the production of things to personal activities, I am thinking and working on the new image of human beings and changes in the way of life that they foster.
The members are Hiroshi Mitaji, Ryo Kosaka, and Mariko Asakura.

・method |

If you look it up in an English-Japanese dictionary, "method" is a word that includes the meaning of "method, method, methodology, order, logic, and order."
And their method is focused on store development, working closely with the people who produce things and the things produced in all areas, from design and crafts, art, fashion, beauty, and even food. I have a variety of jobs.
