TATRAS opens flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo! Limited items also on sale

TATRAS, known for its urbane, sophisticated clothing made from high-quality materials and beautiful silhouettes, will open its flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo on Saturday, November 16th.

The new TATRAS Ginza store, which will open on Saturday, November 16th, is located in Ginza 2-chome, a district where tradition and cutting edge technology intersect. It will span three floors, two above ground and one below ground, and will make its grand opening as TATRAS' first standalone store in Tokyo.

The interior was designed with the theme of beautiful contrast, which also applies to the down jackets made by TATRAS, combining natural materials such as stone and wood with man-made materials such as concrete and stainless steel.
The clean and modern interior of the store, which is conscious of the Italian-Japanese fusion that is the background of the TATRAS brand, is decorated with several one-of-a-kind pieces of Asahi ware, a traditional Japanese craft, as well as original fixtures that have been created by capturing TATRAS' iconic down jackets as art, allowing customers to immerse themselves in the world of TATRAS in a space that feels like an art gallery.

The main first floor will stock men's and women's items and will have a relaxing atmosphere. The second floor will be for women, and the basement will be for men's items. There will be three floors, all of which will offer the full lineup of TATRAS, from popular items to the latest collections.

To celebrate the opening of the TATRAS Ginza store, we will be releasing a collaboration item with Giovanni Leonardo Bassan, an up-and-coming artist active in Paris.
We will be selling a limited number of reversible jackets made from Brewed Protein™ fiber, a protein fiber developed by Spiber.
The design is based on the TATRAS men's collection "OSODO" and features a special illustration printed on the outer fabric that symbolizes his art. The front is black and the back is khaki, so it can be worn reversibly, allowing you to enjoy two different styles.

This jacket is made of a twill material that is a blend of Brewed Protein™ fiber and wool. It is a special material that combines the firmness and glossy silky texture of Brewed Protein™ fiber with the gentle warmth of wool, and is woven with a higher density of yarn that is more twisted than usual to give it a solid texture and a luxurious feel.
It is also water-repellent, making it an item that combines functionality and design.

Prior to the launch in Japan, on September 27th during PFW, a launch event was held in collaboration with British culture magazine AnOther Magazine at Ogata Paris, a restaurant in the Marais district of Paris known for its Japanese tea and authentic kaiseki cuisine, produced by architect Ogata Shinichiro.

-Brewed Protein™ Fiber-
Spiber, a bio venture company in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, has developed and produced this high-quality fiber material using a unique fermentation (brewing) technology based on plant-derived raw materials.
We are developing a new material category, "protein" fibers.
Brewed Protein™ fiber is engineered to have the luster and fineness of silk, the fine smoothness of cashmere, and the bulkiness of wool. With plant-based ingredients and a precise fermentation process, Brewed Protein™ fiber is also expected to have significantly reduced impacts on the environment and animal welfare compared to traditional materials.

Asahi-yaki is a type of tea pottery that was first made in Uji, Kyoto during the Keicho era and has a history of around 400 years. It is counted as one of the Seven Enshu Kilns, as the first potter opened the kiln and was given the name "Asahi" by tea master Kobori Enshu. It is characterized by a delicate texture created by the aged clay of Uji and the flames of split pine wood, and tea utensils such as tea bowls and water jars in particular were beloved by feudal lords and tea masters. Along with the development of Uji tea, Asahi-yaki reached its peak in the early Edo period.
