“What kind of taste” is fun when you eat !? With a “word” and “illustration” that express the feelings of women, a new sensation of choosing chocolate “Onagokoro Choco”

Nestlé Japan Co., Ltd. will collaborate with popular illustrator Misaki Tanaka to sell a new sensation of choosing chocolate with words and illustrations, "Onago Koro Choco" and "Kit Kat Mekakushi Chocolatery" on April 15 ( From Wednesday), limited quantities will be available at KitKat Chocolatery stores and mail order sites.

"Kit Kat Chocolatery" is a specialty store that delivers "Premium Kit Kat" that focuses on materials and manufacturing methods under the full supervision of chef Yasumasa Takaki, owner of "Le Patissier Takagi". We develop products that are perfect for small gifts for family, friends, and colleagues, as well as reward gifts for ourselves, and have been well received by customers.
The "Kit Kat Chocolatory", which expresses the feelings of women, has been designed in all of the 15 different "Kit Kat Mekakushi Chocolaty" product packages that will be sold for a limited time this time. Information such as the name and flavor of the 15 types of products to be developed is not specified. Customers will only look at the “words” and “illustrations” of the package, and will “intuitively” find and purchase products that they sympathize with or products that are perfect for the gift recipient. The "words" that express the emotions and feelings of women in love and life, which have probably been experienced by everyone, are reminiscent of the taste characteristics of each of the 15 types of products. Also, in collaboration with popular illustrator Misaki Tanaka, 15 original illustrations inspired by those words have been designed.
In addition, for those who want to purchase all products, we will also sell assorted boxes containing all 15 kinds of "Kitkat Mekakushi Chocolateries" products. An original illustration by Misaki Tanaka is drawn on the upper lid of the assorted box, and leaning against a shelf, etc., will create a stylish painting that colors the space. In addition, a special exhibition of original drawings designed on product packaging will be held at KitKat Chocolatery Ginza Main Store from April 15 (Wed) to May 17 (Sun).
At this time when the new year begins, we will provide customers with a new sense of choosing chocolate from words and illustrations, not taste.

■ Comment from Misaki Tanaka

The artwork is drawn with the intention of leaving a margin that reminds me of the scenery and the smell of someone's neck in the illustration. I think that the “Mekakashi Chocolatery” that I talked about this time has become a package design that stirs the imagination that I usually go to. I drew an illustration according to the copy suggested by "Kit Kat Chocolatery" and the color and atmosphere of the chocolate. It would be nice if you could enjoy it while imagining it more slowly than when you usually eat chocolate.
