HEBIME solo exhibition "Re-cogni-thing!"
At Whitestone Gallery Ginza Shinkan, we are holding a solo exhibition "Re-cogni-thing!" By HEBIME.
A circled dot with the characteristic of "acrylic scratch" that freely digs out multiple layers of supports.
However, he says he is not particularly conscious of the new modeling as "contemporary art".
According to the writer, "divide" and "understand" are the same source. Humans feel that they understand by dividing, and try to divide to understand. What your work is is just the result of someone looking at it, classifying it, and trying to understand it. Therefore, the results are innumerable as many as seen.
-A lump of paint. Earl Brut. Contemporary Art. Or maybe it's not a picture.
There are innumerable processes until things are recognized.
The reflection of the world of the circled dots is nothing but the existence of various "recognitions".
We look forward to your visit.
* About the title "Recognize" has two meanings, "appreciate" and "distinguish".
It can be said that it is a word that fits the writer's concept, and when this word is decomposed, it becomes re- (again) and cognize (know). Since the theme is the "process" of recognition, I decided to use the ongoing -ing and the last 4 letters of cognizing as "thing". It is "the process of projecting oneself onto an object and returning it as recognition."

■ HEBIME Profile
Born in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture in 1982, Jame started studying painting by himself after dropping out of high school. While influenced by Surrealism and Van Gogh, he reached a unique technique called acrylic scratch in 2009.
A support is made by randomly mixing a wooden panel that has been painted in multiple layers to give it a profound feeling, and sometimes a lump of paint that is the remnant of the previous work. The variations of modeling are endless, and you can see the tireless passion for creating works, from the early concrete modeling to the abstract modeling and pattern formation in recent years. In addition, "color", which is one of the charms of the work, has the contingency that even the artist himself does not know what kind of color will appear next. The acrylic scratch of the snake, which is a combination of the motivation for modeling stimulated by accidental thrills and the technique of shaving with rich expressiveness, is a "new modeling" and imbues the viewer with vivid artistry.
