Kimura's insistence, "I want to paint in a 'live' city, rather than going to the canvas in my atelier," makes it a rare opportunity to present at an exhibition facility like this one. In this exhibition, more than 50 new works and past large-scale works such as fusuma paintings will be exhibited, as well as the wooden door "Reviving lotus" made at the request of actress Kirin Kiki. In addition, for five days from the first day of the exhibition, Hideki Kimura's new work over 3 meters will be exhibited at the venue. Please take a look at Hideki Kimura's worldview, which is unbounded by anything, rock and playful, which stands out by meeting the POLA MUSEUM ANNEX.

writer statement

81-Year-Old Street Painter Graffiti, Tattoos, Art.

A five-year-old child was drawing with chalk and wax on the roadside.
good! good! A crowd gathers at the call of the sisters who agitate.
Toddlers just, just proudly draw life-size pictures.
and respond to requests.

That toddler becomes a lecturer at an art university. For some reason, a rock event producer.
Then, from the 60th birthday, I will reach the street painter again.

It's not a Japanese painting, it's not a Western painting, it's not a design.
Start drawing jumbled pictures.
If I dare say it, it may be a Japanese style because it is a picture drawn by me who is Japanese.

Hideki Kimura https://ki-yan.com/
Born in Izumiotsu City, Osaka Prefecture in 1942. After graduating from the design department of Kyoto City University of Arts, worked as a lecturer at the same university. Produced numerous legendary events as an organizer in the early days of rock music in Japan. A painter from the 60th birthday. He has created more than 200 murals in Japan and overseas. The half-life that has been with rock is also shown on the screen full of dynamism. I want to paint in a 'live' city, instead of going to the canvas in my atelier. A unique painter who advocates the ultimate amateurism.
